Album

You Bought It You Name It is the sixth studio album by the American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joe Walsh. The album was released in mid 1983, on the label Warner Bros. two years after Walsh's successful album There Goes the Neighborhood. It was Walsh's second and final studio album to feature George Chocolate Perry as producer. The album was received negatively by the majority of music critics, while other reviewers noted good points to the album. It was also not as successful as. Joe Walsh attempts and nearly makes the free throw that wins the game. Great songs like I Can Play That Rock & Roll and Space Age Whiz Kids show he hasn't lost his edge. But the big claim to fame on this record is his or I Love Big Tits. Rather retro in feel, like the title, it harkens back to a wackier time. Good, but flawed. Track Listing. Joe Walshs second album of the 80s is in part a reiteration of his generations classic-rock values against a new rising tide of anemic, synthesizer-driven pop. I Can Play That Rock & Roll, Told You So and Shadows are basic, bulky hard-rock songs. But there is another side to the album that seems to be directly inspired by new wave. Walsh has always been a cracked songsmith at heart, with a love for eclectic sonics that goes beyond the tastes of most of his peers. Songs in album Joe Walsh - You Bought It, You Name It 1983. Released in June 1983, 'You Bought It You Name It' became the first Joe Walsh solo album that failed to reach the Top 20. Maybe it seemed funny at the time, but Joe Walsh 's goofy June 1983 album You Bought It - You Name It is too often hobbled by his attempts to sustain a joke over the length of an album. It's a shame. In many ways, You Bought It - You Name It had all of the ingredients to be another solid effort. Joe Walsh Format: Audio CD. You Bought It - You Name It. Please retry. I bought the lp when this was originally released around 1983. I enjoyed this album from the first time I listened to it. After this many years, of course, the lp doesn't quite have the sound quality that it used to. Finally, I purchased the cd. It was like hearing everything brand new again. Excellent music from a great guitar player. In my opinion this is one of the best albums Joe released in the late seventies, early eighties time frame
