I ended up snagging one of the recent white boots from eBay from one of the original sellers ($50) and I gotta say, it sounds a lot clearer & more crisp than the Hot Topic red 2xLP from 2013.

Ive not heard how the Simply Vinyl 98 pressings sound yet in person, but I was able to find a 24-bit HRA FLAC rip online.

I transcended space & time when I heard it, I kid you not. Granted, it was like 2.5GB of FLAC, but its worth every damn byte. LOL

who has a bootleg for sale at a reasonable price?? inbox me please
Mr.Bean
Still waiting on the pitched anniversary reissue, been swept under the carpet & forgotten about. Needs a reissue to kill off these crazy prices
Dishadel
Used to love this record in 1996 and also Spice Girls 1996 "Spice" album.

I'd like to read a book or see a film about all the people that got kicked out of school or expelled in part for liking Marilyn Manson.

I would like to see a reissue of this classic....but music industry is sleeping...& after they complain about illegal MP3 downloading & music piracy...

My third fav MM lp (MA and HW are my #1 & 2). I agree that there seems no difference in sound between the Hot Topic and the Simply Vinyl pressings, except for one thing. The red vinyl isn't very quiet, and gives off a hiss between tracks-unlike the SV, which is dead quiet. That is the sort of problem that can reduce sound quality (from what I have read), which is likely why people complain that this is from a CD source, without proof. As for the missing masters, only the record company, not the artist (nor the producer--Trent Reznor, in this case) can take that off the premises. That is called theft, a felony in every state in this country. Whatever happened to it is the responsibility of Nothing Records, and therefore Interscope. Which, by the way, belongs to UMG (I believe). Wasn't there a fire that destroyed 1000s of masters? Just asking...

My HT copy sounds fine, great in fact. I don't have a SV to compare it to though, but having heard this album a gazillion times in various formats over the years, I can say this sounds perfectly fine and nothing like how you described it. Maybe you have a bad copy?

jeir1968 I agree that there seems no difference in sound between the Hot Topic and the Simply Vinyl pressings....Im shocked that there’s someone who doesnt hear a difference in sound when comparing the HT2013 pressing & the SV1998 original. (And I’m not even talking about whether its quiet between songs, but rather the songs themselves)The red Hot Topic pressing sounds like someone played the CD master in a tunnel but like a block away. Of course, this is just my ears & my opinion; and to each their own. However, what I did find interesting, is I thought those unofficial white boots (that have the SVLP catalog #info on the jacket and have oversaturated the eBay marketplace *smh*) sounded WAY more clearer than the official 2013 HT exclusive.

Wish I could have this for a reasonable price... Manson needs to reissue some vinyl and also put EMDM/HEOL on vinyl
Braned
The solid red vinyl is a nice touch for this album. Sounds pretty good. Would like to see how the simply vinyl version sounds.

Heil Marilyn Manson !

Finally got this reissue. I read many previews, but it will better if I try it myself. I have an original simply vinyl edition. I try with my medium end system. Both is good. a different thing is the reissue look clearer than original, but the sound is more clearer for me. High treble and heavy flat bass. I tried them more than 3 time, and found I love the sound of the original issue that give me fresh, live and warm than the new one.

Since Manson's master recording was lost back in the early 2000's, I chose to try the UK pressing from 98. Eventually I would like to compare them on equipment to see if there is a sound difference.
Anarus
i thought they were lost before 2000?
Narim
As an avid record collector, don't believe the morons putting down this pressing. It sounds absolutely fantastic! I actually spin this more than the original simply vinyl pressing, which I also have, and I find no difference at all with the sound quality. And only 1500 pressed. Very rare by now. Looks and sounds great! A+++
blac wolf
SteveKrasz...Morons?I think you need your ears checked. The Simply Vinyl sounds much better than this Hot Topic pressing. You sound more like you own the HT version, and have never actually heard the SV version, regardless of what you wrote. I'm an avid collector also, only my ears are functional. If you had actually heard the SV you would realize what 10s of others have said before. SV = good HT = bad
Zeus Wooden
It's rare now and pretty on red vinyl. I sold mine because the sound quality does not eclipse the CD in terms of dynamic/clarity. The Simply Vinyl pressing is much better sounding.
Daigami
I bought this at Hot Topic, listened to it once, and promptly sold it.The mastering is really quiet, and the sound quality is terrible. Also C1 (Angel With the Scabbed Wings) starts a second or two into the song!Avoid this release unless it's just for show.
Eigeni
Don't Listen to the nay sayers. This vinyl edition is beautiful! The gatefold is great and the red vinyl just adds to the evilness of this record! Sound quality is great too. Now we need Holywood to be re-issued next.
Brakree
Why're you so triggered by people who left these comments years ago? That you had to lash out at anyone that said this pressing sounded fine? Yet, I see this is in your wantlist... Lol.
Vareyma
Oh, I'm sure it sounds awesome on your new Crosley!
Just_paw
Just bought it to have this on vinyl and didn't want to pay the price for the 90's vinyl. The presentation is poor. The book on CD had all the concept art and words mixed making "double senses". On this time there's no boook and it's just a piece of paper with the photographs with no impresion for me. For the sound it's been a deception, maybe by the music style that may have no diferences beetween CD or vinyl.
