Powdered Lobster Fiasco. Having finally made an American bow with Dressed, the Dentists turned on their considerable charm and appeal even further with Fiasco, a charming 10-song compilation that collects, among other things, six songs that were included on a series of singles released on three different indie labels, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil and See No Evil. Powdered Lobster Fiasco finally attracted the attention of a major label, and the band signed to Eastwest Records in 1993. Their first album for Eastwest, Behind the Door I Keep the Universe, reached Number 8 on the CMJ College Radio charts and was followed by a six-week tour of the U. supporting Shonen Knife. In 2010, a new Dentists compilation of previously unreleased demos and rarities If All The Flies Were One Fly, was released and the band played two reunion gigs, one with fellow Medway band The Claim on Thursday 25 March 2010 at Dingwalls in Camden Town, London, and the following night, supported by The Love Family, at the Beacon Court, Gillingham. On Powdered Lobster Fiasco, they perfect the coalescing of mid-60's psychedelia, modern day power power pop and some raved up noise courtesy of pop-punk. Through in second guitarist's Michael Murphy's very English and very sweet voice over songs which don't quite flail yet manage to maintain some sort of positive energy without sounding wimpy in the least. But, the favorites here are Pocket of Silver, Charms and the Girl, Leave Me Alive, I Can See Your House From Up Herewith strummed acoustic guitars thrown in for good measure and the album ending workout Snapdragon with it's two minute guitar coda weaving seamlessly in and out of the crunching melody. By the time they got around to tracking Powdered Lobster Fiasco, the band streamlined their shtick, eschewing much of their clamorous, and occasional psych-enhanced tendencies which involved their earlier release, without relenting what was inherently unique to them. This album isn't on my Dentists desert island list so to speak, but conversely there isn't anything on PLF that I take exception with. by The Dentists. Released: June 22, Lobster Fiasco finally attracted the attention of a major label, and the band signed to Eastwest Records in 1994. Their first album for Eastwest, Behind the Door I Keep the Universe, was followed by a six-week tour of the U. However, after a second album, Deep Six, failed to sell, Eastwest dropped the band. Collins left the band shortly afterward, and the other members went on to form a new band, Coax. On February 10, Lupe Fiasco released his sixth full-length album, DROGAS Light, which moved just north of 14k first-week copies. During a recent show in Seattle, Washington, the Chicago rapper took five minutes out of his show to speak to the crowd about the quality of the material on that album, which was largely panned by critics. DROGAS Light was a compilation of old ass songs we just had laying around, Lupe revealed. Whereas most artists would never want their old ass songs to ever see the light of day, Lupe's decision to patch together 14 leftover tracks was p
