The Grateful Dead is the debut album of the Grateful Dead. It was released by Warner Bros. Records in March 1967. According to the biographies of both bassist Phil Lesh and drummer Bill Kreutzmann, the band released the album as San Francisco's Grateful Dead. The album was primarily recorded at RCA's Studio A, in Los Angeles, in only four days. The band had wanted to record the tracks in their hometown of San Francisco, but no recording studios in the area had modernized equipment at the time. 2017 сингл Live at Barton Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 5877. Thank you to whomever for the mix and the release. Please keep em comin. This is an excellent show from the Grateful Dead. There is one entire side of a record where the vocals were not picked up in the mix, but that is only a small portion of the concert and I believe the rest of the show makes up for it. This is not a manufacturing defect, it was a recording issue. The sense of direction and collective eye for detail that the band displays on the track permeates the whole of To Terrapin - Hartford '77. Weaving in and out of the alternate vocal and instrumental improvisation sections on Sugaree, one of guitaristvocalist Jerry Garcia and lyricist Robert Hunter's most famous collaborations, illustrates how the Dead were at the absolute peak of their powers in the mid-to late 1970s. The stars were all aligned in favor of the Dead at this point in their career, if only precariously. the music of the grateful dead is my religion. Thank you jerry, phil, bobby, billy, mickey, ron, keith, donna, tom, brent, and vince. This show is top drawer the boys sound epic, as is the case with most shows from '74. jerry's talent is still peaking as he contiues to shred. the poignancy and lyricism of his leads are. well, just check out BTW. and his vocals are still sweet. phil and billy are amazing: sick lead bass and tight, ripping measures, respectively
