The Wake - Here Comes Everybody. Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organizing Without Organizations is a book by Clay Shirky published by Penguin Press in 2008 on the effect of the Internet on modern group dynamics and organization. According to Shirky, the book is about what happens when people are given the tools to do things together, without needing traditional organizational structures. The Wake's second album is so much better than their first, 1982's Harmony, that the earlier album may safely be forgotten, or at least thought of as a painful growing lesson. Here Comes Everybody, which, like the Glasgow quartet's name, is derived from James Joyce's Finnegans Wake, is a lost treasure of mid-'80s U. indie pop. Here Comes Everybody and its singles have been reissued before, in 2002 by LTM, but this is their first U. release, and their first vinyl pressing since the original Factory records. First available on Record Store Day alongside. That last song, one almost explicitly referred to on the title track of Air France's Sincerely Yours labelmate the Honeydrips' 2007 Here Comes the Future, sounds especially relevant at a time when being internet-famous is no longer a novelty: Have you heard the good news Everybody is a star Have you heard the good news Everybody works so hard. There have been at least 3 bands called The Wake, including a Scottish post-punk band, an American goth band and a Finnish death metal band. The Wake were a Scottish post punk and later indie pop band, founded in Glasgow in 1981 by Gerard Caesar McInulty formerly of Altered Images, Steven Allen and Joe Donnelly, who was later replaced by Bobby Gillespie. Stevens sister Carolyn Allen soon joined, and remained in the band until its end
